Easy Elegant Christmas Décor Craft; Vintage Lace and Pearl Trees

Transform your home into a festive holiday gathering place for family and friends. By sprucing it up with our simple show-stopping trimmings, you will turn your home into a merry residence while you prep and celebrate the holidays. I have a luxurious pearl and lace DIY Christmas tree centerpiece project for you! Our beautifully trimmed ivory lace and pearl Christmas tree centerpiece would be an elegant and classy addition to your collection of Christmas décor. If you are intimidated by DIY projects, don’t worry this Christmas tree is easy to make.

Our elegant and festive trees use our French braided trims and STYROFOAM TM brand foam. I love the lace and pearl trims so I designed a couple of different projects using this lace that I will share soon.

Here’s a designer tip to keep your décor elegant: stick to a similar palate. Metallic accessories look great in most spaces and add some shimmer and shine to create that festive feel.

Supplies Needed:
2 yards: Alice Classic Woven Braid: IRI901 Pink (optional), IRI901 Khaki

4 yards: Vintage Roses with Pearl Bridal Lace Trim: IRI750WH

2 packs: Cynthia Elegant Pearl Trim 1/2"

3 Antique White: 9” x 12” craft cuts Kunin Classic felt

3 STYROFOAM brand foam: 6” disc, 8” and 4” cones

1 bottle: Fabri-Tac Adhesive by Beacon

Hot glue gun

2 Empty thread spools

1 bamboo skewer

Pins

Sharp Scissors

Ruler

STEP #1

Step 1. First, we are going to create the top and bottom felt cover for the foam disc. Begin by using foam disc as template and draw a circle. Then cut the circle shape out of the felt. Glue felt circles to cover top and bottom of disc.

STEP #2

Step 2. Second, use a hot glue gun to glue two rows of the Khaki colored Alice braided French trim around the foam disc edge. This looks so elegant!

STEP #3

Step 3. Cut two strips of the antique white felt to wrap around and completely cover each spool. Place the felt, trim off the excess and glue to the spool. Cut circles of felt to cover the bottom of each spool. Cut a piece of braided French Alice woven trim to wrap around bottom of spool. Glue with hot gun.

STEP #4

4. Lay 8” cone on a piece of antique white felt. Roll to cover with felt trimming off excess. Glue in place with Fabri-Tac Adhesive by Beacon. Cut circle to cover bottom of tree. Measure and cut a piece of lace to wrap around bottom of cone. Glue in place using the Fabri-Tac Adhesive. Keep adding layers overlapping slightly. Glue spool to center bottom of tree.

STEP #5

5. For small tree repeat step 4 by wrapping the cone with felt and gluing pearl trim in a continuous row to cover the entire tree. Cover bottom of tree with felt circle. Use the bottom of the cone as a template for creating a circle out of felt to glue on the bottom of tree (cone). Glue spool trunk to center bottom of tree. Cut skewer in half and insert through center of spool into tree leaving a 1” to insert into disc. Voila`, you’re done!

Tip: When storing, you can remove trees.

Now you have created a show stopping centerpiece that adds elegance to your home. Use it to dress your mantle, dinning table, counter top, guest bathroom or side table. Make several to disperse throughout your home. Your friend and family will be impressed with your holiday craftiness.
