How to Create A Witch’s Halloween Wand and Shoes in Four Easy Steps.

Witch's Halloween Wand and Shoes

The talented designer Beth Watson (Creatively Beth) took a pair of plain black flats and a piece of dowel. With some tulle, trim and appliques she created a good witch wand and slippers. 

What you will need:

1 Pair of Black flats

1 Dowel 1/4" inch (plastic or wood)

2 yrds. Braided Decorative Trim

1 bottle of Beacon’s Fabri-tac or hot glue

3 cardboard circles 3"-inches in diameter

STEP ONE: Add Braid to Flats

Using an adhesive like Beacon’s Fabri-tac or hot glue, add the trim to flats along the edge beginning at the front. 

(The seam will be hidden by the rosette.) 

STEP TWO: Creating Rosettes

Cut a long strip of tulle and gather into a circle by stitching along the edge and pulling the tulle tight. You can fold the tulle in half to make a smaller circle for the flats and a large circle for the wand.

STEP THREE: Making Wand

Cut a three-inch circle from cardboard and glue to the dowel. Glue the larger tulle circle to the center. See picture below.

STEP FOUR: Apply Appliques
