How To Personalize Christmas Stockings For Any Décor Style

Hanging the stockings, a much-loved tradition of the holidays. From traditional red and green to the modern farmhouse trend personalize Christmas stockings to delight everyone and compliment your own holiday style.

Traditional and Nordic Christmas Stockings

Personalizing Christmas stockings is an easy and rewarding creative project. Ready made stockings come in a wide variety of styles and colors. Choose the stockings, choose trims to compliment the stocking and simply use fabric adhesive to add the trims to your stockings. This could be a fun family or friend night get together activity. These festive red stockings were given a fun playful look with the addition of pom pom trims and appliques. Pom Pom trims are available in many colors, have fun deciding here!

Christmas Farmhouse Stockings

The farmhouse décor trend of textures and muted tones of white and grays means handknit cable stockings in creams and whites. Bring in nature with a simple addition of a woodland animal applique.

For a particular animal lover add an applique of their favorite animal. We have several to choose from and their cameo shape is ideal for a classic stocking look. You can find these appliques here.

Christmas Glam

From farmhouse style to a glam silver and sparkle holiday décor. Add extra sparkle to a ready-made stocking with some gorgeous beaded trims. Find a beautiful selection here. Again, a fabric adhesive and scissors are all you need!

What is your favorite holiday decorating style? We have the trims to enhance any project and make it extra special for the Christmas season.

TIPS:

Depending which way you like to hang your stockings add trim from hanger seam and go completely around the entire stocking.

Glue trims in small sections using cuff as your guide or if gluing along the center, measure and mark your line with chalk.

Iron on appliques can also be glued on if the stocking material is not suitable for iron on.

Always cut trims a little longer than needed, better to trim off excess than cut too short, often fabric stretches a little when you are working with it.
