Returns

If a product does not meet your requirements for any reason, we will accept your return within 28 days of delivery. Returned items must be new, unused, uncut, and include the original packaging/tags if applicable. Please note returns received after this time frame will not be accepted.

To return an item, simply mail it back to us (address below) along with a copy of either the packing slip or emailed receipt so we can trace your package back to your order. Once received, your return will be processed and refunded to the original payment method within 5 to 7 business days.

Please understand that samples, swatches, and items marked 'final sale' cannot be returned. The original outbound shipping cost cannot be refunded and you are responsible for the costs of returning a product. We do not charge any restocking fees for returns.

The shipping cost quoted in your shopping cart is based upon the dimensional weight of the products purchased. We offer the following shipping methods:

United States:

USPS First Class Mail; USPS Priority Mail

UPS Ground, UPS 2nd Day Air, UPS Next Day Air

Canada:

USPS First Class Mail International, USPS Priority Mail International

Order Processing

Most orders ship the same or next business day. Orders with express shipping (UPS/FedEx 2-day/overnight) with delivery day guarantees are counted after the order has been processed. An order with express shipping may not be processed the same day if the order is submitted after 9am CST. Any delivery guarantees for overnight, 2 day, or other express shipping services are from the shipping courier only and not Trims By The Yard. USPS Priority Mail is not considered as an express shipping method.

We are open Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5pm CST. Any orders submitted on weekends or non-working US holidays will be processed on the next business day.

Cancellations or Modifications

Please note orders cannot be edited/modified/changed once submitted.

Cancellations, subject to a 5% cancellation fee, may be requested but cannot be guaranteed. Orders with express shipping cannot be cancelled. Please contact us if you would like to cancel an order.

Out of Stock Items

Generally our inventory is live and accurate; however, in rare occurrences we may be short or out of stock of some items. We will automatically refund any item which is not in stock at the time of your order. You will be notified by email of the refund applied. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Brokerage Fees, Duties, Taxes, etc.

Whenever applicable, Trims By The Yard is not responsible for payment of brokerage fees, duties, taxes, or other charges on the packages shipped to its customers outside of the United States. The receiver of the package (importer) assumes the obligation to pay these fees. The shipping charge collected for the order is only for payment of shipping services to the destination address and not for any additional fees assessed by the customs broker or presiding governmental authority.

Proof of Delivery

A tracking number showing completion of delivery is considered proof of delivery for your order. A signature may be required at our discretion. If you believe your shipment has been mis-delivered, we will work with the shipping carrier to initiate a claim on your behalf.

Trims by the Yard is not responsible for package theft once delivery is complete. It is the responsibility of the receiver to have a secure location for package delivery. If you believe your package was stolen, we suggest filing a police report. If the carrier for your order was USPS, we suggest filing a mail theft report with the US Postal Inspection Service as stealing mail is a federal offense.

Damaged Shipments

Please notify us immediately of any damage or defective merchandise. Photos of the products and box should be included to help expedite your claim.

Refused Shipments

If a shipment is refused, marked return to sender, or deemed undeliverable by the carrier due to an incorrect address entered by the customer or any other reason outside of the control of Trims By The Yard, the customer will receive a refund for the purchase price of the product(s) less any applicable return shipping fees assessed to the shipment by the carrier. The original outbound shipping cost is nonrefundable and orders with “free shipping” will have the original outbound shipping cost withheld. The applicable refund will be processed within 5-7 business days after the package has been received at our facility. However, if in the rare case the outbound and/or return shipping fees assessed by the carrier exceed the original purchase subtotal, a refund will not be offered.
